DVR90

The national height reference system DVR90 (Danish Vertical Reference 1990) is used as standard reference for heights above mean sea level in Denmark. This system was built upon a precision levelling survey conducted from 1982 to 1994. It uses the 1990 mean sea level measured by the Danish Meteorological Institute's sea level gauges as reference.

DVR90 was launched in May 2002. This also included updating of the national geoid model and fitting of the geoid model to DVR90. The accuracy of the geoid model is 1-2 cm, which means that it is possible to estimate heights above mean sea level with GPS with an accuracy of a few cm.

All reference points in the REFDK and 10 km networks have DVR90 heights based on levelling (not GPS).
