Danish Reference Systems

There is a growing need for compatibility between geodata collections in Denmark. In order to exchange data, institutions' data structure and units must match.
Therefore, the project System 2000 has been launched to standardise the reference systems used throughout Denmark. This project promotes ETRS89 as the country’s standard reference system, DVR90 as its standard altitude reference system, UTM/ETRS89 as its standard map projection and 10km Net as its three dimensional reference network.
System 2000 provides free transformation programmes for updating existing data sets to the new standards and is being adopted in both the public and private sectors.
