REFDK
|
|
Denmark’s primary GPS reference network, REFDK, was established in the early 1990s. The network includes 95 reference points that are distributed at 40 kilometre intervals across the country. These points are inherited from older reference networks and are marked with granite or brick posts.
At the base of REFDK are six reference points that were included in a Europe-wide survey in 1994. These points’ locations were measured, calculated and approved by the European Reference Frame and became a part of a Europe-wide reference network. This network was subsequently used to define a European reference system— ETRS89.
The latitude and longitude of the REFDK reference points are accurate to within 1 cm. Each REFDK reference point has also been assigned an altitude from the DVR90 altitude system and coordinated with the UTM/ETRS89 map projection.
The map below illustrates the 96 points of REFDK. The six foundational reference points are labelled.
